Just days ahead of the drop of their highly anticipated new album “Humanz”, Gorillaz have released a bonus track entitled “The Apprentice” for impatient fans everywhere to peek at their new sound.
The track features guest appearances from Rag’n’Bone Man, rapper Zebra Katz and London singer RAY BLK. Just a few of the many impressive names on their collaborator list for the album and it seems Damon Albarns 17-year-old daughter might just be the genius behind it all. “Some of the decisions for this record were fueled by wanting to impress her still,” Albarn confessed to Billboard on a recent interview.
The bonus song will be part of the deluxe version of the album along with four others:
15. The Apprentice (feat. Rag’n’bone Man, Zebra Katz & Ray BLK) 16. Halfway To The Halfway House (feat. Peven Everett) 17. Out Of Body (feat. Kilo Kish, Zebra Katz & Imani Voshana 18. Ticker Tape (feat. Carly Simon & Kali Uchis) 19. Circle Of Friendz (feat. Brandon Markell Holmes)

This was followed by the announcement of an impossibly intimate performance at New York’s Rough Trade outpost today to commemorate their new album, and fans have reportedly been lining up all night!
