Eska, with her quirky psych-soul sounds, finally takes the spotlight with the release of her self-titled debut album ESKA, released through Naim Edge.
It’s accompanied by the video release for first single, Shades of Blue – with hints towards early-90s R&B with a shudder of 70’s chicness. There’s soft backing vocals and the harmonicas, drums and cool guitars add an experimental edge bringing the sound to the now.
She sings, writes and arranges and, having already collaborated with Grace Jones, Cinematic Orchestra, Ty and Tony Allen, it’s clear this talented young lady can turn her hand to pretty much anything.
