Dream Boys release their debut self-titled album on the 17th September 2013. The album contains 11 glorious psychedelic-pop tunes and nearly slipped under the radar at GIGsoup. The album is released on Art Fag Recordings.
The LA four-piece (which incidentally contains a solitary Scotsman) have released a beautifully high tempo’d album which is the perfect antidote for the changing weather and most certainly for anyone suffering the Monday blues. There is real emotion in all of the tracks and its refreshing to hear something so up lifting. Don’t think that this is LA surf music (The Thrills, Beach Boys etc) as there is a scottish rawness to the tracks as well. Think Teenage Fanclub or even Belle and Sebastian and you won’t be too far off of the mark. Praise indeed.
“Sworn” is a fantastic track with a cracking chorus, while the excellent “10 White Lies” is the stand out track on the album. It’s simple and short but extremely moreish. While the album does have a psychedelic feel it is by no means sounds ‘out of date’ and certainly deserves airplay
