“I only make music for the reason that I didn’t have anyone to dance with”, says Paris born Petite Meller. The singer-songwriter today releases her new single ‘Backpack‘ and the lack of dancing partner seems to have done her no harm at all. ‘Backpack’, released via London-based label Night Beach Records, comes hot on the heals of previous release ‘Icebear’ and now has a charming French-Riviera inspired pop video to accompany it.

Meller says the video represents a memoir of summer French holidays, an homage to the French New Wave films such as Godard’s Pierrot Le Fou, and George Anri Cluzot’s masterpiece L’Enfer. “Pushing the unconscious libidinal dream into reality, that’s what fascinates me.”
A remix of the single, from Marlin, is also available to download.
