COLOUR return with a brand-new single. ‘Rush!’ is released today (Friday Feb 1st, 2019).
Produced by the band and Dan Swift (Kasabian, Snow Patrol) at the band’s own studio on the northwest coast of England, the single was mixed by Dan and mastered by Jon Davis (Everything Everything, Dua Lipa) at Metropolis Studios.
A modern London Calling-esque anthem, a rallying cry to the fellow downtrodden. Described by frontman James Tidd as “the Knight Rider theme meets Come Together”, ‘Rush!’ is the apocryphal soundtrack of an unrelentingly merciless perfectionist. Musically it’s a tougher, almost modern-blues track, delivered with frantic vocals and an absolute ear-worm of a chorus.
Previously championed by the likes of Clash and Shortlist amongst others, COLOUR played several gigs in the capital last year including a SPOTLIGHT gig at London’s Camden Assembly, and Covent Garden’s Roadhouse (part of the #SaveRoadhouse campaign), which saw the band featured in the London Evening Standard. Other notable gigs include Kendal Calling, Brighton’s The Great Escape, and headline shows at The Seabright Arms in London, Night & Day Café in Manchester and EBGBs in Liverpool.
In support of the single release, COLOUR head out on the ‘Rush!’ tour. Dates as follows:
Jan 30th Studio 2 Parr Street, Liverpool
Feb 2nd Telford’s Warehouse, Chester
Feb 16th Eagle Inn, Manchester
April 5th Roadtrip & the Workshop, London
