This morning, Stockport Indie-Pop five piece Blossoms announced that on Wednesday they will be releasing new material, something fans have been eager for ever since their eponymous debut album rocketed straight to number one in August. Last month, the band shared a video online after yet another run of successful UK shows promising that new music was coming soon, but no-one could have expected this. Blossoms will be teaming up with dance production act Chase and Status on new single ‘This Moment’.

It is nothing out of the ordinary for Chase and Status to collaborate with bands on their work as just last year they released ‘Control’ featuring the raw, punk sound of Slaves, but this promises to be something altogether different given the more mellow, synth driven sound of Blossoms. Whatever happens, this track is set to divide opinion and you can form your own upon it’s release on Wednesday.

Blossoms will be at the legendary Maida Vale studios tomorrow night for a special session for BBC Radio 1 prior to Radio 1’s Big Weekend at the end of this month where it sounds as if they will be premiering the track.
