The Antlers’ Peter Silberman contributes to anti-Trump compilation with The Flaming Lips cover

The Antlers‘ Peter Silberman has shared a previously unreleased studio cover of The Flaming Lips‘ ‘Feeling Yourself Disintegrate’. The song underlies a sense of urgency that takes on new meaning in light of recent political developments.

This is the latest contribution to ‘Our First 100 Days’, an anti-Trump compilation that raises money to benefit organizations working for climate change, immigration, reproductive rights, and LGBTQ rights.

From January 20th to April 30th, a new song from a different artist will be released every day. Angel Olsen and Animal Collective‘s Avey Tare have already shared tracks, while other musicians who will contribute include Mitski, How to Dress Well, Toro Y Moi, Tim Heidecker, Will Oldham, Beach Fossils, Strand of Oaks, Into it. Over It., Mountain Goats, Twin Peaks, Whitney, The Range, and more.

“Not only is it a collection of great music, it is the music community coming together, supporting many important organizations who will be the first line of defense against the policies of the new administration,” said Phil Waldorf of Secretly Group, which is working together with the team behind the anti-Trump compilation ’30 Days, 30 Nights’. 

Singer-songwriter Peter Silberman will release his debut solo album ‘Impermanence’ on February 24th via ANTI-Records.
