New Festival ‘Pwer’ announced for 2018

Brand new festival ‘Pwer’ is set to hit Cardiff on the 6th May 2018.  With the name coming from the Welsh world for ‘power’, the festival aims to give a voice to the young musical talents of both the city and the country.

The brainchild of two Cardiff-based students, the bank-holiday musical extravaganza will take place at Gwdihw Café Bar, a vibrant independent venue in the heart of the city.  With strong ties to the ‘Save Womanby Street’ campaign, it seems a fitting host for a festival set on empowering the often-overlooked voices of young Welsh musicians.

With the first line-up being announced in the near future, both national and local bands are set to perform across two stages.  Due to the expectation of a crowd formed largely of 18-25 year-olds, there will also be a student discount available on all tickets.
