In a rare video interview released exclusively to Hypetrak, and filmed on a remote island somewhere near Cuba, MF DOOM – the metal faced rapper and producer – hinted at new music in 2016.

I got a lot of good shit coming up this year,” DOOM says in the three-minute video. “I know I’ve been off y’all’s scope for awhile because I’ve been in the cut. I’ve been healing and resting up and shit. Getting ready to fuck y’all up.

The instrumental track in the video is rumoured to have been lifted from an upcoming single titled ‘Livelihood’, which is scheduled to feature on the long-awaited DOOMSTARKS collaboration with Ghostface Killah of the Wu-Tang Clan. DOOMSTARKS has reportedly been in the making since 2008.

DOOM was prolific during the early 2000’s, releasing a host of albums including ‘Mm.. Food’ and ‘Madvillainy’ with super-producer Madlib. However, he has been relatively quiet in recent years, releasing just two collaboration albums since 2009’s solo effort Born Like This.
