We LOVE Loyle Carner here at GIGsoup! We’ve seen him grow from a small town Croydon rapper to the face of YSL in a matter of years. Don’t want to brag, but we’ve been fans from the beginning! Carner’s sophomore album ‘Not Waving But Drowning’ is due out on April 19th, and the rapper has just announced a huge album launch party at House of Vans the night before. Carner, and his producer/friend Rebel Kleff have made a name for themselves with smooth, jazz-inspired throwback beats and some seriously powerful an evocative lyrics.
Not only will this live show feature some memorable music, but it will also include an “exhibition curated by Loyle’s friends, family and some of the UK’s most exciting upcoming artists, including pieces from Damien Hirst and The Connor Brothers. The gallery space has been put together with the help of House of Vans, The Other Art Fair and male suicide prevention charity CALM. The artists involved have created original pieces in response to every track from the album, which attendees will be able to listen to as they walk around the gallery.”
Allot to look forward to then! The event is free, and you can enter the ticket ballot here.
