Soulful singer-songwriter Link Lewis is back today with his funky new indie-RnB track I.N.V.U. The new song showcases his smooth vocals and relatable lyrics against a backdrop of 90s-influenced slow-jam beats, jazzy alt-pop guitar and mellow bars.

Fans Of The Weeknd’s slick take on poppy RnB should check this out on Soundcloud here now –

I.N.V.U shows envy in a positive form,” he explains. “I’ve come to realise that being an artist is more than just releasing good songs in 2020 – social media requires more. Fans want to get to know the person as much as their music, which is completely understandable. It’s made me realise that I’m actually quite a private person and I often worry what people will think of me. I know what it’s like to feel envious of the people that surround you, particularly on social media. We see people delve deep into their personal lives every single day, completely unafraid of who they are and what people think. I’ve had hundreds of times when I’ve gone to post something and immediately deleted it because I was worried I’d look stupid. When I work with Jordan Higo (another Ellemer Records artist) I can’t help but feel envious of his confidence and outlook on life. Someone who isn’t scared to be himself, both privately and publicly, and owns his talent. I admire him a lot for that. I’m going to take a leaf out of his book. You’ll be seeing a lot more of me, whether you like it or not!”

Taking inspiration from all branches of the tree, the Link Lewis sound blends the buttery tones of jazzy RnB with the slick hooks and pounding grooves of hip-hop and modern pop. He’s already released a string of singles on his Ellemer Records Label (a tight-knit and collaborative collective based in West Yorkshire) and has racked up almost a million streams in just one year. His songs have been heard multiple times on on BBC Introducing, and he’s been acclaimed by CLASH, GigSoup, Vents Magazine and many more.
