Long standing friend Lenny Kravitz is set to honour the late Prince, who passed away on April 21, 2016 of an accidental Fentanyl overdose, at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The pair initially met in 1990 after the release of Kravitz’ ‘Let Love Rule’ hit the charts. They have since gone on to appear on stage together, most notably at Prince’s ‘Rave Un2 the Year 2000’ new years eve gig in Paisley Park at the turn of the millennium.

In an interview with Rolling Stone months after Prince’s death Kravitz went on to describe how instrumental he was, both as an inspirational musician but also a dear friend who had offered constructive and legal advice for his career, acting as somewhat of a mentor.

Joining Kravitz at the Brooklyn’s Barclay Center on April 7 will be the likes of Pharrell Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Alicia Keys and the Indigo Girls who will also be performing.
