Canadian Artist Joe Mcleod is a name on the rise. After touring with and opening The Rural Alberta Advantage, and earning spots on some of the major festival lineups, McLeod is a name you will soon know in the Indie Folk and Pop genres. He carves a lane for himself with his storytelling writing style backed acoustically or with a full band, all while impressing with his strong voice.
McLeod recently released a new song to his catalog named ‘Those Who Can Wait.’ An honest song about drifting apart and the hope of finding your way back together.
“This song to me, creates an atmosphere when listening. The relationship and simplicity between the lyrics, piano, and string movements is what creates that atmosphere. I am really proud of this song and believe it lends a deeper understanding of who I am as a songwriter.” McLeod says. “I think this song is a really honest look into how people drift apart and how often enough, they do come back together if it is meant to be. My favorite songs in the world make me feel something so unique and meaningful, I can only hope this song does the same for someone else.”
The artist also accompanied his recent single with a visual on YouTube (seen above), which has him sitting at the piano along the waves during a beachside ocean hour. You can feel the emotion that the artist put into this song and relate to the feelings he expresses.
Currently, Joe has been working with the band The Elwins producing and preparing his debut album. Prepare to hear a good amount of storytelling through the artist’s poetic lyrics that combing with his soaring vocals.
