Grenfell charity track to be released Wednesday

Simon Cowell of America’s Got Talent fame organized a group of musicians to record a charity song to benefit the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire that occurred on 14 June 2017 that, according to CNN,  presumably killed 79 and injured dozens more, 17 of which are still being treated. Many more were displaced from their home. The song will be released this Wednesday, a week from after the catastrophic event.

The song, a cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” will feature musicians such as Stormzy, Emeli Sandé , Lily Allen and James Blunt among others. The track will also feature survivors of the fire. According to the Guardian, the Artists for Grenfell group will be 300 singers strong. The group is directed by Gareth Malone.

Singers of Grenfell will release their track, “Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” for download on 21 Wednesday 2017 at 8 a.m.
