We all know that when it comes to music and sports the Super Bowl halftime show is the largest and most well known event each year.
Other leagues are also starting to get musicians to partner up with them and in the case of the National Hockey League it’s looking for a more long-term commitment rather than a one night stand like the Superbowl.
The NHL has announced a two-year partnership with pop-punk icons Green Day.
So what exactly is involved in this partnership?
Well for starters, Green Day’s new single titled “Fire, Ready, Aim,” from the band’s upcoming album Father of All… will be used as the opening theme for NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Hockey, debuting when the New Jersey Devils take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 9.
The band will also play a show during 2020 NHL All-star Game that is set to take place in St. Louis, and the NHL.
Additionally, NBC will incorporate the band’s music into suggested arena playlists and highlight packages.
Green Day’s Father of All… album will be released on Feb. 7, 2020.
You can see the title single from Father of All… in the video below.
