Supersonic has made its first line-up announcement for its 2020 festival.
After selling out its 15th anniversary festival last year, the 16th edition of Supersonic will look to further push musical boundaries and celebrate Birmingham’s heritage of heaviness.
Supersonic 2020 will see the likes of Richard Dawson, Blanck Mass, Algiers, Oozing Wound, Puce Mary, Ka Baird, A.A. Williams, Lankum, Klein, Harrga, Rakta, Orchestra of Constant Distress and the Anna Von Hausswolff-led Bada performing live.
In addition to this, arguably the UK’s best underground label Rocket Recordings will host a showcase featuring performances by GNOD & João Pais Filipe, Petbrick, Sex Swing, J.Zunz and a yet to be announced special guest.
There will also be a performance from Curl, a collective made up of Mica Levi, Coby Sey and Brother May, with future announcements scheduled for the coming weeks and months.
Holding its first event back in 2003, Supersonic has been called “the UK’s best small festival” by The Guardian and “the best European festival for new music” by The Quietus.
Supersonic Festival 2020 takes place from 17-19th July in Digbeth, Birmingham. Weekend tickets went on sale Friday 28th February and can be purchased here.
