Primavera Sound announces new sister festival in Los Angeles

Following the culmination of Primavera Sound 2019, the festival has announced the arrival of Primavera Sound Los Angeles on 19th – 20th September 2020, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the festival.

The celebration of this two-decade long existence will start with the Primavera Weekender, a two-day festival in Benidorm in November.

Over 220,000 attendees visited the nineteenth edition of Primavera Sound Barcelona last weekend, which this year has received widespread praise for the first instance in festival history of successful gender parity where more than 50% of performers were women.

Primavera Sound 2020 will take place from 4th to 6th June in Barcelona and from 11th to 13th June in Porto. The first announcement for both festivals has been revered 90s indie band Pavement.

The new festival in Los Angeles State Historic Park will present a unique Primavera Sound brand lineup in urban surroundings. A small number of tickets will go on sale, before the announcement of the lineup and for a few hours only, at a special price next Friday 7th June at 6pm (Spanish time).

Another location for Primavera Sound remains unannounced, with hints it may be released at NOS Primavera Sound or very shortly.

Primavera Weekender 2019 will mark the unofficial start with a collective celebration in the Magic Robin Hood resort in Benidorm on 8-9 November 2019. Fans of the festival will share the same space and time in communion with artists such as Belle & Sebastian, Primal Scream, Mura Masa, Idles, Sleaford Mods, Cigarettes After Sex, Whitney, Weyes Blood, John Talabot and Carolina Durante, among many others. The event, for which tickets will go on sale on June 17th at the price of 180€ (also covering accommodation and full board).

Primavera Sound 2020 will happen from 4th to 6th June 2020. The first tickets will go on sale on Monday 17th June on the Primavera Sound website.
