Liverpool Sound City 2020: Friendly Fires join Pale Waves as co-headliners

Friendly Fires have been announced as headliners for Liverpool Sound City 2020, joining goth pop outfit Pale Waves at the top of the bill.

It will be their first appearance in Liverpool for over a decade and their only scheduled show in the North West of England in 2020.

In addition to Friendly Fires, other artists added to the line-up include Marika Hackman, The Snuts, Spector, S.P.Q.R., Monks, SPINN, Monarchy, Louis Berry, JOHN and B.C. Camplight.

They join previously announced artists such as the aforementioned Pale Waves, The Blinders, Tim Burgess, The Lathums, Stealing Sheep, The Mysteries, Jamie Webster and The Lottery Winners, among others.

Working Men’s Club and Fickle Friends will also perform an exclusive show for VIP ticket holders on Friday 1st May.

Sound City 2020 will take place over three days from Friday 1st May to Sunday 3rd May. Described as a ‘sprawling block party’, its 16 venues all sit within a 250 metre radius in the Baltic Triangle and will play host to a diverse selection of upcoming and established artists.

As the UK’s lead festival for the PRS KeyChange campaign, Sound City aims to meet or exceed the goal of a 50/50 gender split with their line-ups. Last year female and mixed groups made up 59% of those who performed.

There will also be a music conference called SoundCity+ hosted by the British Music Experience on Friday 1st May. Further details regarding SoundCity+ and KeyChange2020 artists will be announced soon.
