A new two-day festival will be heading to Birkenhead this summer, one which aims to reimagine the shipbuilding town “a musical playground”. The brain child of the team behind Bido Lito! magazine, it will bring together a selection of local, national and international artists on the bank holiday weekend in August (Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th).
Artists announced thus far include Anna Calvi, Bill Ryder-Jones, Nilüfer Yanya, Stella Donnelly and Forest Swords who will present Pylon, a new audio-visual installation.
The festival will also feature performances from the likes of Szun Waves, Pixx, Queen Zee and a host of others, with many more still to be announced.
One of the stated aims of Future Yard is to “think about music differently” and become the “first step on the journey towards a new music future for Birkenhead”.
It will take place across four performance spaces at Birkenhead Town Hall, Birkenhead Priory, Bloom Building and Coffee, and Gallaghers Pub.
Weekend tickets cost £40, granting you access to all four venues and can be purchased from www.futureyard.org
