Hype is continuing to build for the new Father John Misty album, and it may have just reached peak. A video of the man himself unboxing the deluxe edition of his new LP, ‘Pure Comedy’, was posted to youtube yesterday, and it serves as a typically acerbic showcase for the new record.
In addition to the grand reveal of the coloured LPs, FJM demonstrates the package’s nifty customisable background, allowing you to choose from four different skylines for the quirky album art. It’s a nice package, and whilst it does sport a rather sharp £40 pricetag, hardcore fans will no doubt want to get their hands on this pronto. The video itself has its own idiosyncratic charm, too, with Tillman’s wryly exaggerated facial expressions making the clip just as humorous as much of the album it promotes. ‘Pure Comedy’ drops 7th April and although it’s releasing through different labels in US and EU, the deluxe edition is available in both regions.
UK readers can preorder ‘Pure Comedy’ in a variety of formats – including the deluxe edition – here, whilst US readers will need to go here.
