The Q Awards, now in their 29th year, is one of the most prestigious and anticipated nights on the music calendar. Following the massive success of the awards’ new format over the past three years, the Q Awards will feature a very special intimate post-awards gig and allow fans access to the awards alongside the stars themselves. The show is looking to be even more amazing with the announcement dark-pop darlings Pale Waves performing! Fresh off the back of their biggest ever tour, this will be the last chance to catch the band in the UK until March 2020 when they are supporting Halsey – so get your tickets quick!
The star-studded ceremony will al feature sets from Leicester electro-pop outfit Easy Life, plus a guest performance from legendary Scottish singer-songwriter Edwyn Collins, who will receive the Q Maverick accolade at this year’s awards.
Heather Baron-Gracie of Pale Waves said
“When people come to our shows, they’ll get a really exciting, honest band performance with northern spirit, just fucking going for it, playing music that they love and believe in. Over the past year and a half we’ve played so many shows we’ve changed completely and I feel like we keep changing. We’re confident – we actually move onstage now. Before we were like statues and within ourselves. As performers we’ve come a long way and started to believe in ourselves a lot more. Not that we didn’t before, but everything has changed now. At the moment, we’re writing the second album and we’re gonna start recording it next month.”
