The Manchester Arena will be reopened with a special benefit concert on September 9.
‘We Are Manchester’ will be headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds with support coming from fellow Mancunian bands, The Courteeners and Blossoms as well as a preshow DJ set by Inspiral Carpets, keyboardist, Clint Boon. More acts to be announced.
All the proceeds will go towards the Manchester Memorial Fund, a trust set up and overseen by the Lord Mayor of Manchester and will be used to create a permanent memorial for the victims of the tragic May 22 terrorist attack.
The tickets for the show will go on sale on Thursday (August 17) at 9am with prices ranging from £25 – £30. Ticket information can be found here.
A separate charity concert organised by Ariana Grande, the One Love Manchester concert featured performances from Grande herself as well as Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher, Coldplay, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.
It was recently revealed that the concert raised approximately £18 million in total with the families of the victims receiving £250,000 each.
The Manchester Arena has remained closed since the tragedy and this will prove to be an emotional night for all, as we continue to persevere and help heal the wounds left on this city.
