No one does patriotism quite like the Scottish (well, maybe Americans), hell, they even have their own word for New Year’s Eve, they call it Hogmanay! And there’s no other Hogmanay bash like the Princess Street party in Edinburgh, and it’s at this party that Biffy Clyro will be playing their only UK live show of 2015, on the very last day of the year.
Biffy have been touring exhaustively since 2009 which explains their year-long hibernation. They are expected to return with a bang and kick off 2016 which –in a statement released by the band- they are referring to as ‘the year of da Biff!’ which could be interpreted as a hint at new music? Let’s hope so.
Joining Biffy in Scotland’s capital are veteran indie-rockers Idlewild who formed in Edinburgh more than 20 years ago and have recently come out of hiatus to recorded their seventh studio album Everything Ever Written which drew positive reviews for its originality and boldness.
The Hogmanay party’s home-grown appeal is sure to attract large crowds of music lovers from across the UK converging on Edinburgh for a New Year’s party like no other.
