Rising singer songwriter and all-round pop talent Drew Schiff
announces the release of his new single ‘Ride The Wave’. The self-penned
song is the third to be released by 23 year old Schiff, whose previous singles
‘Ray-Bans’ and ‘It’s Just today’ have earned him well over 100,000 streams on
Spotify and a Billboard chart placement in the US.
‘Ride The Wave’ continues Drew’s run of pop perfection, drawing on his personal
experiences of love in an imperfect world. He says: “The song’s message is
that no matter what your past is, what society tells you who you should (or
shouldn’t) be or if you feel that you’re not good enough, as long as you’re
here with me we can deal with it all, together we will become the eye of the
storm. I’ve encountered lots of storms over the past few years but if I had to
pick the one that has been most impactful on my life, it would be when I was
forced to leave home due to me being different than what my parents dreamt me
up to be.”
Truly independent in every sense of the word, Drew is a popstar
with an unconventional story. Born in Hungary to German and Spanish parents, he
was rejected by his biological family and had to leave home in his teens due to
his mother openly objecting to Drew’s sexual fluidity.
Moving to London and working a range of jobs from clothes stores
to coffee shops, Drew began building a new life free from the shackles of his
past before starting to split his time between London and New York. Truly
determined and incredibly bright, Drew has since self-funded his education and
graduated from UCL & Harvard with a degree in political science. Over the
last two years, Drew has found the confidence and drive to focus on his true
passion: music. Writing, recording and performing constantly, he has amassed a
huge and dedicated following online, currently including an army of over
150,000 fans on Instagram.
Releasing ‘Ride The Wave’ shortly before the 50th
anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Drew will be dedicating all proceeds from
the single to the Stonewall Community Foundation.
“This year marks the fiftieth year of the
Stonewall Riots, the very first modern-day LGBTQ+ march,” the thoughtful singer says.
“Back then it was against police oppression
and basic human rights. It makes you stop, think and appreciate what the
generations before us have done. The liberties we all have now to live our
lives, be ourselves, and not just be accepted and tolerated but respected and
