Coldplay have been announced as their year’s Sunday night headlines for Glastonbury, becoming the first act ever to headline the festival four times.
The four-piece, fronted by Chris Martin, will take to the Pyramid Stage at the UK’s most renowned festival for the Sunday evening slot. The band have previously headlined Glastonbury in 2002, 2005 and most recently in 2011.
Coldplay are the first headliners to be announced for the Somerset festival, which last year saw Florence and the Machine, Kanye West, and The Who headline the event.
The appearance will be Coldplay’s only festival slot this summer, and follows the release of their seventh studio album, ‘A Head Full of Dreams,’ in December last year.
