After the high-profile Libertines reunion gigs this summer ‘Carl Barat And The Jackals’ played two back-to-back gigs at the The Macbeth in Hoxton and then The Amersham Arms in the musically regenerated New Cross area last night (31st December 2014) and treated fans to not only new material but also a selection of the classic afformentioned Libertines material.

The set, at both venues, featured ‘Death On The Stairs’ and ‘I Get Along’ from The Libertines’ debut ‘Up The Bracket’, and when an amplifier broke on stage, Barat played an accoustic version of ‘France’, from the band’s second, self-titled album ‘The Libertines’. The impressive set also included ‘Bang Bang You’re Dead’, by Barat’s former band ‘Dirty Pretty Things’.

The two intimate shows were put on by indie club night ‘This Feeling’ in association with Jack Daniel’s and also featured a DJ set from ‘Faris Badwan’ of The Horrors at both venues.
