Following rock press acclaim and local radio support for their debut Brainstorm EP last year, bluesy Alabama hard rockers Black Market Salesmen are back today with a new single. Inside Your Head showcases their gritty take on psychedelic rock n’ roll complete with fuzzy 70s guitar riffs and pounding drums and is on all download/streaming platforms now.
“Inside Your Head is an introspective, hard rock and roll tune, and the title track for our upcoming album,” explains frontman Klayton Hodges on the new single. “It’s about the blurring of lines between reality and the things we fear. It is inspired by those moments where you hear a sound in the night and for just that moment everything you fear becomes manifested in reality.”
The Salesmen were formed late in 2012 as a garage rock power trio for a one-off, end-of-the-world-show. Having saved the world with groovy tunes, they went their separate ways. Reconvening in 2015, with a new psychedelic edge (and a bass player to boot) Black Market Salesmen took on their modern form. They continue to be one of Huntsville’s most active groups, playing shows in small dive bars, festivals, and even opening for Crystal Gale and Loretta Lynn. In the spring of 2018 they traveled to Marietta, GA to record their debut EP. Under the direction of Grammy nominated and multi-platinum musician/producer Joey Huffman and the expertise of engineer Kevin Sellors they recorded the four songs that would become Brainstorm. In the fall of 2018, the band was featured in the “On the Rise” section of Relix magazine of the October/November issue. Black Market Salesmen have spent their 2019 alternating between playing shows and recording for their upcoming full-length album.
