According to reports, The Stone Roses‘ frontman is recording solo material.
As reported by The Daily Star, Ian Brown is “recording new material for his first solo record” since 2009’s My Way. This report comes after rumours of The Stone Roses split for the second time. Rumours began to circulate during the weekend, after the Manchester band’s Glasgow show. It is believed that the Hampden Park show may be their last, as Brown said to the audience: “Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy that it happened”, as the show drew to a close. Fans have even taken to Twitter to express their sorrow.

However no official comment has been made by The Stone Roses upon this matter.
Word of solo work from Brown has sparked worry amongst fans for the fear that a third Stone Roses record may never be released. The last full length album that the world got from the Mancunian rockers was 1994’s ‘Second Coming’.
However, having reformed in 2011 after their 1996 split, the band have released two new songs together, ‘All For One’ and ‘Beautiful Thing’.Noel Gallagher, who is a friend of the band, had previously stated that the quartet were thrilled with their studio sessions and felt that the new album was comparable to their eponymous 1989 debut album.
Whether or not a third Stone Roses album will see the light of day, fans should take comfort in the fact that the band came back, played gigantic shows and that Ian Brown is still offering them new music that will, no doubt, be amazing.
