Following a run of buzzy singles last year and fresh from inking a deal with Saint In The City Records, US indie rocker Alex O’aiza returns today with Money (Acoustic), a beautiful change of pace for the versatile young singer-songwriter.
The new song showcases his smooth croon alongside fingerpicked indie-folk guitars and gentle piano and precedes a run of new single releases for 2020. Money (Acoustic) arrives with a cinematic, black and white video shot on the streets of Dallas (by first time director Kevin Gnapoor) that perfectly matches the song’s melancholy vibe. “Money was the second single I released as a solo artist” explains O’aiza. “It was written and recorded in Nashville with my producer friend Austin Shawn back in January 2018, and it quickly became the artistic blueprint for my sound. Now in 2020 and a new phase of my career, I’m exploring new frontiers in my abilities as an artist. I decided to team up with close friends, producer Santiago Holder, and guitarist/songwriter Alex Whitcomb, to create an acoustic reimagining of the song and to tap into a different side of my music. I hope people enjoy this different vibe just as much as I do.”
The core of Alex O’aiza’s sound is built on snappy and hooky indie pop, but also draws on the beats and textures of alternative RnB and the scuzzy riffs of blues rock. After recording new songs in recent studio sessions with producers Austin Bello and Caleb Turman from celebrated pop-punk band Forever The Sickest Kids, Alex will release two more new singles in April and May.
