Are the Stone Roses about to release new music? GIGsoup’s Kieron Keen explains why the appearance of lemons in Manchester could mean just that
Stone Roses fans have been pondering the possibility of the band imminently releasing new music as mysterious lemons, which are notorious as the bands logo, have been spotted on different billboard and advertisements around Manchester city centre (the band’s hometown).
It has been widely reported for some time that the band have been holed away in a studio in London working on their third studio album and could be planning on releasing new music this summer to coincide with comeback gigs to be played at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on June 15,17,18 and 19.
In addition to the headline shows in Manchester the band also have shows scheduled in New York at the famous Madison Square Garden (June 30), a headline slot at T in the Park (July 8) and a final show in Dublin, Marlay Park (July 9). The band did have shows scheduled in Tokyo, Japan on June 2 and 3 but were cancelled after drummer, Reni, had an accident and fractured two ribs.
