Queens Of The Stone Age fans have known for a while that the band have been working on new material; frontman Josh Homme has made no secret of the group being back in the studio and a handful of studio shots posted to the band’s social media have only built excitement for the long awaited follow up to 2013’s ‘…Like Clockwork’. Podcaster Dean Delray let slip that the band – who he’s interviewed on multiple occasions – recently finished their as-of-yet untitled seventh long player, and earlier on in the year Mastodon’s Troy Sanders mentioned that the band would be putting new music out this year.
Now, though, we’ve gotten something from the band themselves. A mysterious teaser has been posted to all of the group’s social media feeds, showing a stylised Q – the band’s trademark of sorts – with the caption “Coming Twentyfive”. Quite what this means is open to speculation but a logical conclusion is that an album announcement – or at least a single – is coming on 25th this month. While nothing is set in stone yet, it seems pretty safe to get excited at this point, especially given that the band have already announced a handful of festival shows with more likely to come.
