North London rabble rousers Wolf Alice have finally admitted what most of their fans had realised earlier this month — they are ready to launch their second album.

Adding to the excitement, Wolf Alice will tour the US in July then Europe, including the UK, in October and November. And ‘Yuk Foo’ — the hard, fast and raucous first track from the new LP to be released — is available to stream now on most platforms. “See u in the pit for that one hehehehehehe,” the band said.

The group started teasing in early May, posting a picture of a hand beneath foliage and the words “COMING SOON SIGN UP BELOW X”. Fans who signed up received mysterious postcards in the mail in the last week of May. On its own, none of the postcards made much sense, but the group started posting them on social networks in order from 2nd June, and it soon became clear that each one was the name of a song on the new album and that the posts were revealing the track list.

‘Visions Of A Life’ will be released on 29th September via Dirty Hit. “We are immensely proud of this album and it will give us great pleasure to share it with you,” Wolf Alice said. It was recorded in Los Angeles  with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen (who produced Paramore’s last two albums). On returning to London from the US ahead of last week’s UK general election, the band started posting passionate political statements, urging people to register and to vote against the Tories.

Wolf Alice is Ellie Rowsell (lead vocals and guitar), Joff Oddie (guitar), Theo Ellis (bass) and Joel Amey (drums and vocals). Their first album, ‘My Love Is Cool’, was nominated for the Mercury prize and garnered critical acclaim.

Tickets for the US tour, focusing on intimate venues, are on sale now. Tickets for the European tour will be available on Friday 16th June, with a limited pre-sale on 14th June. The UK tour culminates in the band’s biggest headline gig to date, at London’s iconic Alexandra Place on 24th November.
