Father John Misty to begin mixing new album next week

Although Father John Misty released ‘Pure Comedy’ only a few months ago, he has already fully recorded his next long player. He’s long been a workaholic – he put out 8 albums as J. Tillman between 2003 and 2010 (in addition to serving time as rhythm man for Fleet Foxes) – so it’s no great surprise that a followup to ‘Pure Comedy’ is already nearing completion. During an informal Q & A with the audience at a show at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Sunday 23rd July, the songwriter revealed that his next album – jokingly referred to as “Pure Comedy 2” – will be mixed down next week, with release scheduled for next year.
