Since the release of his debut album; “Standing On a Chair,” Jay McAllister (otherwise known as Beans On Toast) has made a point releasing a new record every year, with the release date being his December 1st; his birthday.
Armed with little more than his guitar, quick wit and brutal honesty, McAllister has gathered a cult following with his songs that discuss serious subjects of drug abuse, war, politics and social injustice but with a personal touch as not to seem heavy handed.
McAllister is also incredibly light hearted, writing tracks about his thoughts, ideas and experiences in an often humorous manner.
A few days ago, McAllister announced he is releasing his seventh studio album; “Rolling Up The Hill.”
Teaming up with the american husband and wife duo; Truckstop Honeymoon the new record revolves around the ideas of friendship, travel and art while also touching on the themes of getting older as time passes.
To celebrate the announcement, McAllister has released a video for the track; “The Great American Novel” from he record.
In the video he shows off his home videos of his time travelling across the US.
