Alan Leach from Shed Seven heads to Edinburgh with his music… and comedy too

‘Alan Shed’s Music, Comedy & Everything Else Interactive Quiz Show’ debuts at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival at the Just The Tonic venue for the month of August.  Alan, as the original and long-term drummer of the alternative rock band Shed Seven, makes a huge departure from his day job taking him well and truly out of his comfort zone as he hosts this unique quiz show!

When Shed Seven disbanded in 2003 only a dozen people witnessed Alan’s first and final attempt at stand-up comedy. He vowed never to put himself through it again and he swapped stand up for hosting quizzes where ‘you still get to drink beer and crack lame jokes into a microphone, but if no one laughs, f**k it, it’s a quiz!’

The whole audience will get to take part in this fun competitive interactive quiz. Each group of people will be given a tablet on arrival with the app already open on the screen! The Quiz will feature music rounds as well as rounds on classic comedy with some traditional general knowledge thrown in for good measure.

Whilst Shed Seven were on a four-year hiatus, Alan created a global quiz company with his brother, which now has over 800 weekly quizzes in the UK and a further 300 in the US and other countries. However Shed Seven have been back touring and appearing at key festivals since 2007. And on the back of their 2017 top ten studio album ‘Instant Pleasures’ they will play their biggest UK tour to date this winter. Taking in two nights at Brixton Academy and their first ever Arena gig at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.

Join Alan at Just The Tonic @ The Mash Up – Just The Cask between the 2nd and 25th August
