Jon Patrick Walker “Like A Rose”

It’s been a little over a year since we last heard from Jon Patrick Walker. At that time, he was telling us that he ‘Won’t Sit Around and Cry.’ But his latest is called Welcome to the Edge Times. So it’s possible he is now sitting around and crying. But we sure hope not. His latest is a catchy little number, called “Like A Rose” that he wrote while on tour missing his wife.

A highly respected actor for 25 years, appearing on Broadway (most recently playing King George to raves on the national tour of Hamilton), on Television and in Film, JP made the leap into songwriting and music-making, releasing his first album, The Guilty Party, in 2013. Jon’s 2016 LP, People Going Somewhere garnered excellent reviews, as did the follow-up EP entitled, You And I

Welcome to the Edge Times, his third LP, is his most personal and intimate record, comprised of solo recordings made while on the road with Hamilton as well as in various places he’s lived over the last several years (London, Brooklyn, Los Angeles). The ten original tracks, steeped in the 70’s singer-songwriter tradition (Nilsson, Paul Simon, Joni, Dylan), address universal themes of Love and of the Human Condition and the challenges facing us at this critical juncture, but they are also infused with humor and wit and above all the joy of music-making. Jon lives in Santa Monica, California with his wife, the actor Hope Davis and their two daughters.

You can also check out this lovely video “Luv U Girl”, also from Edge Times (out 25 October). We can’t wait to hear the rest of what Walker has to offer.
