A young band from Ayrshire are making huge waves in the UK rock scene with their passionate, powerful sound. That band is Vukovi and they’re fast becoming the rock critics’ darlings, which comes as little surprise to their loyal long-time fans who have watched them work hard since forming in 2010.
Fresh off their UK tour promoting their debut self-titled album, the band chatted to us about their love for Glasgow and how excited they are to be playing TRNMST.
How are you feeling about playing the first ever TRNSMT festival?
It’s an honour to be sharing the line up with some of the biggest bands in the world in one of the best cities in the world.
Who are you most excited to see?
Radiohead, cos I don’t think Tom Yorke is human.
What’s your favourite thing about Glasgow?
The people, the culture, the music scene.
What’s the best Glasgow venue you’ve played in?
ABC is a great venue, we had one of our favourite shows supporting Mallory Knox there.

You’ve just finished your UK tour – how did it go?
We all got really ill but it didn’t dampen the success of it and the clear progression in regards to ticket sales since the album.
What was the first festival you went to as a punter?
T In The Park! My eyes were opened that weekend.
Tell us something people may not know about you?
I was born in Serbia and travelled with the circus till I was 12 as a snake charmer.
Why should people go see you at TRNSMT?
We never push people to come and see our band or feel the need to pitch ourselves. If people want to come and watch us have a blast on stage and get involved, then we’re happy!
