They are back! Five top ten hits and a decade later, we have this special Q&A.
Welcome – we’ve missed you. Thanks for taking time out to talk to us today.
Firstly, tell us how you are and how your experience of lockdown has been so far?
We are all doing well thanks, Joel and Andy think they may have had it a few weeks ago but they are both much better now! Luckily we have the new music releases to keep us from getting too bored!
You’ve had an incredible journey. Looking back at over your decade as a band, are they any special memories you cherish?
For me personally it would be the tours, there is nothing that compares to travelling around the world playing shows every night. We got to headline my home town arena, the Brighton Centre and that is the memory that I cherish most.
Tell us the story behind the new single ‘Lovers’
‘Lovers’ is a song that Andy wrote quite a few years ago actually. when we started talking about releasing music again, and started playing ideas to each other, it was one that jumped out immediately. We recorded it in the summer of last year, so we had to wait a little longer to finally put it out there!
It’s about how you feel when you’re young and in love and there’s no better feeling in the world than that.
Five things you enjoy about song writing might include
Telling real stories,
Building the track from just an acoustic guitar to the final production,
The reaction when people finally hear it,
Finally getting to take that song to the stage.
Why did you fall in love with music in first place?
I’ve always loved music but it was when I started going to my first gigs and concerts that I really fell in love it properly. Seeing thousands of people all singing along, all losing them self in a one off moment.
What are your hopes for the next decade?
When things get back to normal we can’t wait to get back on the road, it’s been too long! We’ve got a lot of music ready to release as well.
