Singer-songwriter and visual artist Anuladé has just released her colourful new single ‘Share the Love’. GIGsoup caught up with Anuladè to discuss the single in more detail.
Hi Anuladè – How have you been?
Very well, thank you for asking.
Tell us everything about your new single ‘Share The Love’.
I wrote “Share the love” in 2016 and it’s my third release from my forthcoming album Troika (due out in October). I think it’s the perfect track to release in these uncertain times as the lyrics fit the challenges we are living today. “Share the love” is my artistic interpretation of the ups and downs of life and how I cope with it.
How was the recording and writing process?
It was a joy to be in the studio writing and recording my songs and bringing the stories to life.
When did you start writing music and singing?
I used to sing in my cot as a baby and as I grew up I began to write stories. Many of these stories transformed into songs. I wrote a couple of the songs on my current album (Troika) back in 2004, I finished the album 3 years ago.
We really liked the colourful music video. Tell us a bit more about it and the fabulous costumes, especially the arty one.
We filmed the music video outside as we were gradually coming out of lockdown. It was a great way of bringing nature and the desire to be outside into my music video. Most of the costumes I wore were my own, apart from the painted dress which was made by Lucy February.
Can you tell us some artists who are an inspiration for you and why?
There are so many artists that have inspired me over the years, particularly ones that can tell a story. Like Madonna, Annie Lennox, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobbi Gentry, and Lady Gaga to name a few.
What’s next? Any plans for another release or a tour?
My debut album is due out around October time. The album will come out first, but I do have lots of new material on standby and of course, I will be looking to tour in the future.
Any special message to your fans?
I would like to thank all my followers on social media that have supported my Art and Music over the years. I hope my colourful creativity will continue to lift their spirits.
