Catching up with LAGIOIA

Hailing from Zurich, LAGIOIA is a soulful voice amid the storm, and one that needs hearing. Unmistakable in her delivery, LAGIOIA switches from gliding falsetto to ferociously powerful. Lord defies her previous release, titled True Love, which had a stronger pulse of RnB through its centre. Instead, it’s sparse,  glowing and almost seems as though it was put together piece by piece.

We caught up with LAGIOIA about her music, check it out below:

Hey LAGIOIA, how are you doing?

Hey, I’m doing fine considering what has been going on the past few months, I hope you too?

Tell us about ‘Lord’:

Lord was created about 2 years ago, when I was feeling quite lost, not knowing what to do in my life and overthinking every single thing. Out of frustration, I sat down once again with my guitar trying to feel better while singing how I feel. For me, music had always the impact of making me feel better and safe when I felt down. With Lord I hope that I can help my fans and listeners who are struggling with anything in their life and make them feel more embraced. The emotions and topics discussed in Lord, resemble a journey from feeling lost and fearful to finding hope and self love. We can be quite hard on ourselves and with the cover of Lord , which writes “be gentle to your soul”, I wanted an action and resolution, how you can help yourself be better and feel better, when you’re at this low point of your life.”

What inspired the release?

To be honest, since people heard it live, they didn’t stop asking about it, so I released it. I never thought the demand was that big because to me it’s such a intimate song, which apparently loads of people can refer to. If I can help people with my music, that’s all that really matters.

Who do you look up to in life and in music?

I have the luck to be surrounded by the most amazing friends and my family which always support me and help me to find my way in life, I do look up to them because they’ll always have the best advice to keep going, keep pushing and to reach your own goals. When it comes to music I look up to a lot of artist, who are trying to keep it real in the game when it comes to the music industry and actually want to make the wold a better place trough their music. From J. Cole, Alicia Keys, Marvin Gaye to Bob Marley and many more.

If you could have written any song what would it have been?

Very difficult question haha, there are so many. If I would have to choose one right now it would be Friends from J. Cole. Amazing rhyme game, very honest and straight ahead.

Where do you see yourself this time next year?

Healthy, happy and closer to my dream of making a living through music. Hopefully playing my music live, it doesn’t matter on big or small stages, as long as it’s not virtually anymore, lol. There is nothing better than giving a good live energy and receiving it back.
