With just one week to go until the sixth edition of Liverpool Psych Fest kicks offs, the set times for this year’s event have been released.
Headlining the Friday night this year will be Mali’s very own Songhoy Blues, the Bamako-born desert blues four-piece are currently touring Europe in support of second album ‘Résistance’ which was released back in June. They will be joined on day one with the likes of Träd, Gräs & Stenar, The Telescopes, Gnod, Laetitia Sadier, Aquaserge and an entire stage at Camp curated by California label Castle Face Records, which was co-founded by John Dwyer of Thee Oh Sees.
Headlining the Saturday night this year will be The Black Angels, one of the main drivers of the psychedelic revival over the past decade. They will be joined on day two by the likes of W.I.T.C.H: We Intend to Cause Havoc, Jane Weaver, Krautwerk and A Place to Bury Strangers. The Musings In Drone ‘chat show’ will also take place during day two, featuring interviews with the guys from Castle Face Records and The Black Angels, among others.
This year’s PZYK Colony, an immersive 360-degree audiovisual installation which made its debut in 2016, will see performances from The KVB, Loop and The Bug vs. Dylan Carlson on the Friday, with UPITUP Records’ Jacques Malchance DJing in between each set. Steve Davis and Kavus Torabi will also be on the decks late into the night over at District.
And on the Saturday night, PZYK Colony will see performances by Sex Swing, The Comet Is Coming and Adrian Sherwood, with Bernie Connor DJing in between each set. The one and only Andy Votel will also be serving up some great tunes until very late over at District. A full list of set times for both days are available below.
The sixth edition of Liverpool Psych Fest will take place across multiple performances spaces at Camp & Furnace on 22nd and 23rd of September.
