A mere week since its first star-studded line-up announcement, Kendal Calling has completely sold out its 25,000 tickets for the 12th year running. The lucky few who acted quickly will be treated to a weekend of superb music. The festival’s incredible six headline acts are Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Franz Ferdinand, Tinie Tempah, Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls and the legendary Brian Wilson playing ‘Pet Sounds’ in full.
Ben Robinson, co-founder of Kendal Calling comments:
“The team are truly humbled by the reaction to this years line up and we’d like to thank everyone who has bought tickets to make this our 12th successive sell out!
We’ll be keeping our heads down over the next 6 months working hard to make this the best festival possible. We have a lot more amazing artists and field based antics still to announce so keep your eyes peeled. We can’t wait to see everyone in the fields!”
Alongside this incredible news, Kendal Calling has also been announced as the first festival to go virtual, with Google Maps. Google Street View and Tour.Media have combined to capture the whole festival. This allows festival fans who missed out on tickets to take a virtual walk around the site. From preforming on the main stage, to entering the VIP area, anything is possible with the virtual tour. Anyone can navigate the festival by visiting http://www.kendalcalling.co.uk/virtual-tour.
Despite the record-breaking sell-out time, and the festival’s 12th consecutive year of selling out, capacity will remain the same to preserve the unique atmosphere for everyone’s enjoyment. With a plethora of talent ready rock the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District from the 27th-30th of July, this is set to be one of the greatest weekends of the summer.
