London 3-piece MYSTYRYS are somewhat of a late addition to the Field Day proceedings. Pulled into the festival foray at the last minute the band infuse delectable mix of fuzzy guitars and sumptuous melodies to produce a gorgeously addictive shoe-gaze sound.
A recent double a-side single (Lemonade/Palisades) saw the band return after a brief hiatus and was recorded as part of their upcoming debut album by Mark Jasper (Witching Waves) at Sound Savers London (Bitches / Mickey Gloss / Sauna Youth / Trashkit / Dignan Porch).
We spoke to the band about Field Day and how 2016 has panned out so far…
How does it feel to be playing at this year’s Field day festival?
Really cool, we were late additions so it’s been a bit of a surprise but we’re super excited
We’re crawling steadily to the mid-point of 2016. How’s it been so far? Any highlights?
We’ve been discovering loads of older tracks, bands and albums this year that have been really influential on the new stuff we’re doing. Stuff like Palm, Naomi Punk and The Sound have been some of big talking points music wise. Loads of new stuff too, the new Autolux record, King Gizzard, stuff like that have been great additions to 2016
