Following the recent success of her debut single ‘Butterfly’, Leeds based Alt-Pop artist, Lucy Booth is back with this perfectly constructed EP ‘Melancholy Blue’!

For Fans of Gabrielle Aplin, Birdy & Lana Del Rey

‘Melancholy Blue’ is an honest and stunning collection of songs exploring some of the most challenging obstacles which people face on an everyday basis, from heartbreak and loss, to betrayal and temptation.

Lucy says ‘I find the resilience of humanity inspiring and when I’m writing I often picture myself in the shoes of those who are going through a difficult time and try to imagine what the world looks like from their perspective. I think that music has the ability to evoke powerful emotions within us and I hope that these songs will enable my audience to deeply empathise with the individuals who inspired this collection of stories.

Lucy’s gift for songwriting is showcased beautifully throughout her EP, flawlessly matched by her ethereal vocals, allowing the listener to connect on a personal level and be taken on their own emotional journey.

The title track ‘Melancholy Blue’ was originally written as a poem, exploring the sense of grief and longing, which so many experience at the end of a relationship but also portrays that flicker of hope as we begin to heal, reminding us that one day we’ll feel whole again.
