Oasis-botherers DMA’s have released a new single entitled ‘Lay Down’, which is set to be released on the forthcoming debut album. The album is set to be released at some point this year.
The new single is one of the band’s more upbeat numbers and could be seen as a clear attempt to step away from their obvious influences. Although the vocal style remains Gallagher-esque, the new song relies more on texture and less on melody compared to the boy’s stuff which has come before. Whatever you think of the song itself, this will be received as needed progress.

Another interesting feature of the song in comparison to DMA’s previous work is that it features a tidy little guitar solo. It sticks close to the central melody line, building the song to new heights.
Whether or not Noel Gallagher reneges on his earlier promise to boo the band if he ever saw them, the new single is certainly worth a listen.
