And so, as we move swiftly into a new year of promising music we find ourselves dipping our toe back into late 2014 for today’s ‘GIGsoup Track of the Day’. Jack Garratt’s ‘The Love You’re Given’ is a quite spectacular way to start our daily feature for 2015 and more importantly the perfect way to introduce this immensely talented 22 year old multi-instrumentalist.
Garratt’s falsetto voice is cleverly combined with delicate piano, a quite addictive loop and smooth beats. The track builds throughout finally climaxing in a spectacular crescendo of chaos. Its no wonder that the track has already been championed by Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe and received deserved airtime throughout the UK.

Garret started writing from a young age and plays a jaw-dropping range of instruments. ‘The love You’re Given’ follows hot on the heals of 2014’s ‘Remnants’ EP (check out the excellent ‘Worry’ from the release) and also coincided with a series of UK sell-out shows.
While 2014 was certainly a big year for the Buckinghamshire born artist, 2015 promises to eclipse this.
