Today we are pleased to introduce new Edinburgh producer SEØUEL who has just announced news of his debut EP ‘Prague’, which is set for release on August 4th via Disorder Recordings.
Setting the mood for his debut EP, new song ‘Prague’ is a fiery number, not for the faint hearted. With an intoxicating synth hook dropping within the first minute, it’s a track that’s made to get bodies to the dance floor & offers a little glimpse into the mysterious world of this exciting new producer SEØUEL.
The record all came to be after the Edinburgh producer stumbled across The Church of our Lady Victorious in Prague – home to the hallowed Infant of Prague.
Every year thousands of pilgrims pay homage to the 16th-century wax-coated wooden statue of child Jesus holding a globus cruciger, which pious legends claim once belonged to Saint Teresa of Avila and allegedly holds miraculous powers.
The tradition of the Infant Jesus procession and the coronation continues to this day as the closing highlight of the annual Feast of the Infant Jesus in Prague. Elsewhere across the world, statuettes of the infant are displayed proudly, usually accompanied by the quote:
“The more you honor me, the more I will bless you.”
The ‘Prague EP’ draws upon this powerful imagery with the perturbing moods SEØUEL evokes and takes a turn for the more sinister. Driven by propulsive beats, the result is an incredibly controversial work.
‘Prague’ is the second track SEØUEL has revealed, following it’s counterpart ‘Das Ist’, which went online earlier this year.
