It’s been a stand-out year for the Australian music scene. Bands such as Midnight Juggernauts, San Cisco and Cloud Control have left a real mark, with top album releases and gigs covering most of Europe. The good news is that 2014 looks as though it may be even bigger.

Cue Australian indie dance band RÜFÜS.

They’re already a big thing back in their native Australia, with their debut album ‘Atlas’ hitting the number spot. And if that wasn’t enough they’ve been nominated for the Triple J Award – Album of the Year, ARIA Awards – Breakthrough Artist of the Year, ARIA Award – Best Dance Release and AIR Awards, Best Independent Dance, Electronica or Club Single.

The good news for the rest of the world (and in particular London) is that following their sold out Australian tour, RÜFÜS are in town this week for a set of 3 gigs, and no doubt show-casing tracks from ‘Atlas’, which is being given a Spring 2014 release here.

The gigs are as follows…

Wed 4 December – Shacklewell Arms

Fri 6 December – Club NME, Koko

Tues 10 December – White Heat, Madame Jo Jo’s

We’ll be reviewing the album the second it’s given a European release date but in the meantime check out the tracks above.
