If fine indie-pop from the city of Glasgow takes your fancy, then today’s track of the day will be right up your street.
Twin Pines’ youthful, energetic sound has been picked up by numerous radio stations, with their debut single ‘Young Heart’ a big hitter in all the right ways. We recently caught up with the band to discuss the single, their plans, and their journey thus far.
Your single ‘Young Heart’ is a punchy, bold debut. How pleased are you with the reaction to the song so far?
Thank you! We are very pleased with the reaction actually. It’s been going good. We’ve had some heavy hitters at radio stations say some really nice things, which has definitely benefited the band, so for a first release we couldn’t be happier!
What makes Twin Pines different from other young up and coming bands?
It’s a unique situation with us really, we have almost started back to front, some bands dream of getting the chance to move away and live in a new city to write and record an album as well as travel to the other side of the world to play with bands they love, that pretty much happened for us instantly. We are in a good situation at the moment as we just finished 18 tracks, so we definitely aren’t short of material. It’s definitely an exciting position to be in.
You played your first London show earlier this month, how was it?
Yeah it was great! It was hosted by Radio X who have been very kind about us, we genuinely had no clue if there would even be anyone at the show but it was a great turn out! There was also a lot of free beer for everyone, which is always good! We will play our next London show at The Social on November 16th.

You’ve opened for some pretty big names like The 1975 and Panic! At The Disco recently. Are you happy with how the band are progressing so quickly and being noticed?
For sure! We are extremely happy about it. It was an amazing experience. It’s all been a whirlwind. It’s nice to see so many fans connect with your music on such a big scale. At the Arena show in the Philippines we saw a lot of tweets saying it was some peoples’ very first gig, so it’s amazing to be part of something so special. You always remember your first show.
If you could support any band or artist in the world, who would it be?
Are we talking living or dead? It would definitely need to be Michael Jackson or Prince if we are talking fictional. Realistically though, it would be cool to do a tour with Taylor Swift, she’s got some banging tunes.
Is your home the stage or the studio?
Technically we’ve been living in the studio after the first few months, but I think metaphorically being on stage is where we feel most at home.
What has the next 12 months got in store for Twin Pines?
