Some of you may have already heard of Lyla Foy. The London singer-songwriter previously recorded under the WALL moniker and released a series of EPs and singles for independent labels Big Picnic and Black Cab Sessions. However, the artist has now reverted to her own name and has a new single out today (9th December 2013).
The excellent ‘Easy/Head Down’ is the follow-up to the ‘Shoestring’ EP she released earlier this year and is the first from the SubPop label. An album has also been promised for 2014.
Foy is already a darling of the airwaves after receiving airplay from the likes of Huw Stephens, Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq. Her effortless vocals and delicate instrumentation surely make her one to watch next year. If you’re in London tomorrow night (10th December 2013) then you also have an opportunity to see Lyla Foy play a headline show at the Lexington.
